The Chernobyl meltdown

The Soviet government made the following announcement two days after the accident.

"There has been an accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. One of the nuclear reactors was damaged. The effects of the accident are being remedied. Assistance has been provided for any affected people. An investigative commission has been set up."

Below is a link to Russian film maker Vladimir Shevchenko's final film. Notice how the troops were not informed of the dangers. Many didn't even wear their surgical mask's as they mined a tunnel under the monster. Scevchenko received a lethal dose of radiation while filming on the roof of the power station. His cameras became so incredibly radioactive, they were buried with him. Schevchenko, the soldier's, and all who suffered to bring the reactor under control were true hero's.

  1. The pic of the dog isn't going to win you any viewers, if you ask me.

  2. Gosh I think I was kinda rude in my first comment. I'm sorry. I was wondering about the pic of that baby with the huge head. I've seen it before. But do you think it's real? How horrible. Another bad thing is depleted uranium. It does horrible thing too. Thanks. It's a great blog! Oh and "fracking". That's gonna end up killing many many people. They need to stop drilling. For anything. We have wind and the sun. That should be our source. I heard that's why God made them. For us to use. And it's free.
